Queensland Water Police an Australian Boat Show first

For the first time at a boat show, the Queensland Water Police 23.35m vessel Brett T Handran will be on display.

There will be regular timed tours of this vessel, which is used for training, exercises and counter terrorism deployed in Queensland over a 200 nautical mile offshore zone along Queensland’s coast.

The vessel was used as a base in the early 2011 Brisbane floods and has a launch and retrieval tender system capability at high speed.

A 12m vessel, D A Shean will be set up close by with displays on the Queensland Water Police and its role. The Brett T Handran is one of three vessels built in Tasmania in 2009.
