Raymarine Reels in Sixth Consecutive NMEA Best in Show Award

G-Series Navigation System Given Top Honours at NMEA 2008 Convention and Exposition

For the sixth year in a row Raymarine Inc has taken home the Best in Show award from the National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) Convention and Exposition, held in San Diego, California from 1st – 4th October.

This year, Raymarine was honoured for its G-Series Navigation System, the company’s premier navigation system, which combines Raymarine’s leading chartplotter, radar and digital fishfinder technology with high-speed processing and networking.  The G-Series joins the long list of Raymarine products that have won the Best in Show award over the past five years, including the Ray218 VHF radio, Raymarine’s High Definition Digital™ Sounder Module, the C120 Multifunction Navigation Display, E-Series High Performance Multifunction Navigation Displays with Platinum cartography and RayTech RNS 6.0 Navigation Software.

“We are truly honoured to receive this recognition from NMEA and the recreational boating industry for our G-Series Navigation System,” said Dave Bimschleger, President of Raymarine, Inc. “Winning the Best in Show award becomes even more special to us each year, as we continue to put our full focus and effort on bringing the most cutting-edge and highest quality products to our customers.”

Raymarine’s G-Series is a multifunction helm solution that combines ultra bright displays, remote keyboards, and powerful processors with network sensors for radar, fishfinder, GPS, weather and video, providing captains with the ultimate command station.

Available in four ultra bright display sizes, the G-Series can be configured in a multitude of combinations to precisely fit each boater’s unique needs.  Each system begins with a display, the powerful GPM400 processor module, and Command centre keyboard.  Next, network sensors for GPS, fishfinder and radar provide primary navigation data, and additional processors, displays and keyboards can be added to the network to support multiple stations.  In addition, the G-Series network can be expanded even further with onboard monitoring cameras, audio/video entertainment and engine instrument data.

The NMEA awards recognize excellence in design, performance and reliability in marine electronics products, and offer NMEA members the opportunity to distinguish the mostinnovative technology in the market. The awards are selected by votes from marine electronics dealers, distributors and other industry professionals in a variety of categories.
