At approximately 10.30 this morning the NSW Maritime Regional Manager for the Hawkesbury/Broken Bay reported that a pleasure craft caught fire at 0200hrs last night on Pittwater and subsequently sank.

The Manager was informed by Police at 0300hrs.

The owner, who was last onboard the vessel during the previous night, has advised that there was/is 400 Litres FO on board and that the reasons for the fire were not known.

Slight seepage of fuel was noticed and has been brought under control.

Hazmat and the local NSW Maritime Boating Safety Officer are currently in attendance, and retrieval of the vessel is underway.
