Andrew and his team, based in Tasmania, visited their local dealer, CJ Marine, to repower their boat, and the results were immediately noticeable. Andrew was impressed with how much quieter the new Mercury engines were, particularly at mid-range speeds, which was a significant improvement given the boat’s hardtop design that tends to amplify noise. He also praised the engines for their torque, which was particularly evident during testing in rough conditions along the east coast. The additional torque allowed the boat to maintain a plane at slower speeds, something Andrew hadn’t experienced with previous motors.
