Oregon, USA: After winning the 2012 Oregon Tuna Classic Tournament Series, Garmin – Bad to the Bone, is preparing for the ultimate fish off at the 2013 International Game Fishing Association (IGFA) Offshore World Championship in Costa Rica.
Garmin – Bad to the Bone is a Portland Oregon based offshore tournament team consisting of five members and a fleet of two boats, a 53 Enclosed Flybridge, BOOYA, and a 33’ CC Hydra Sport, Tuna Dog.
The Oregon Tuna Classic began in 2005 and is a series of IGFA Offshore World Championship qualifying events, with proceeds going to the Oregon Food Bank, which provide food for those who are hungry and less fortunate.
The team has graced the podium 12 times in the past five years and not only did they win this year’s tournament securing them an invitation to compete in the world championship, but they also won the ‘Big Fish Award’ for a 34.9lb Albacore, caught by Stephen Seal on board his Riviera 53 Enclosed Flybridge.
Stephen is now preparing for the 2013 IGFA Offshore World Championship held in Costa Rica from April 14–19.
