R Marine PerthIn early May, R Marine Perth conducted another of their popular Rotto Raftup’s. These are impromptu events that are organised to encourage Riviera owners to invite their friends and clients on the water during the week. It also provides an exclusive opportunity for these owners and their guests to preview our latest models in a relaxed, real boating environment. The owners mingle and move from boat to boat throughout the day meeting fellow owners and guests. Many Riviera owners often comment that their circle of friends is wider as a direct result of being a member of the Riviera boating family.

Rotto Raft Up
The destination for this latest Rotto Raft Up was Parker Point. A beautiful sandy bay on the south east side of Rottnest Island protected by a reef. This bay is one of the few on the island that is an anchorage only and therefore is less visited by other boats. Parker Point features a magnificent marine reserve with beautiful coral and abundant fish life. It is also common for the resident stingrays to be seen sweeping under the boats scavanging for any lunch scraps.

People often travel from far and wide to join such R Marine raft ups. One Riviera couple, Raymond and Loraine Hind cruised for two hours along the coast to Rottnest Island to meet up with fellow Riviera owners for lunch.

Other guests included, Peter Court on ‘Court Jester’, Peter and Dianne McNally on ‘Lazy Dollar’, Aaron McNally and Lara on ‘Longshot’, Stephen and Sherry Patten-Williams on ‘Tranquility’.

During the course of the day owners and guests had the opportunity to test the handling capabilities of the revolutionary Volvo Penta IPS system on board a Riviera 4400 Sport Yacht. Without exception, all guests and owners could not believe how easy it is to manouvre a of this size using the simple and intuitive joystick control.
