The 3rd annual Riviera Festival of Boating will present a cirquetacular line up of social events held over four days from May 22 to 25 that will bring a sparkle to Festival goers day and light up their night with a feast of world-class entertainment.
The Festival is 2014’s ultimate boating event with 76 educational and social activities held over four days at Riviera’s 14-hectare state-of-the-art Coomera River front facility – the largest boat building facility in the southern hemisphere.
Riviera owner and chairman Rodney Longhurst said Riviera was renowned for its events and high calibre Festival Gala dinner and this year would be no exception.
“Over 400 luxury power boat enthusiasts are expected to attend the Riviera Cirquetacular, which will be held under the Big Top on the Saturday night to celebrate the 3rd annual Riviera Festival of Boating,” Mr Longhurst said.
“A specially selected group of artists and entertainers will deliver breathtaking and inspired performances as the Riviera family enjoys an evening of spectacular, colourful and vibrant performing arts.
“This family friendly event will entertain the young and young at heart with a three course meal with matched wines, entertainment and live show. All of the Festival’s major events are family friendly and guests are encouraged to bring their children along to join in the fun of the Festival.”
The social events begin on the Friday of the Festival with a special Champagne Master Class luncheon for the ladies. This fully catered lunch will be bubbling with interesting facts about champagne and cork popping fun as the experienced, effervescent and passionate host, Amanda Reboul shares her profound knowledge and enthusiasm for champagne.
Amanda will conduct champagne tastings while providing an overview of the champagne region and how it is made over lunch. Amanda will cover non-vintage, blanc de blanc, blanc de noir, a rose and a vintage to give the ladies a true insight into the different blends and an understanding of what the different grapes do to change the taste.
Riviera’s director of brand and communications Stephen Milne said Friday’s social activities were the perfect way to start the weekend. On Friday evening the entertainment at Riviera really gets underway.
“Friday evening begins in a relaxed environment on the marina where Festival patrons can enjoy champagne and hors d’oeuvres surrounded by a $22 million showcase of beautiful new boats. There will be an opportunity for a private undercover, red carpet viewing of the latest models and expressions of craftsmanship from the Riviera and Belize marques,” Mr Milne said.
“At 7pm guests will make their way into the Riviera facility where they will enter the ‘Riviera and all that Jazz’ nightclub for a feast of colour, music, dancing, food and fine wine.”
On Sunday, the ever-popular Master BBQ Chef Challenge will be held at the Riviera Yacht Club.
Mr Longhurst said this event was a fun and palate pleasing way to put your boat barbecue culinary skills to the test and conclude the Riviera Festival of Boating.
“Enthusiastic amateur chefs will go head to head in a fun-filled barbecue cook off in a bid to win some great Riviera prizes. This event offers a three-course meal and of course a children’s menu is available,” he said.
“Boating is very much a family affair and the Riviera Festival of Boating is designed to encourage all Riviera owners to come to Coomera with their children or grandchildren for four days of fun social events and boating education aimed at giving owners greater confidence and expand their friendships on the water.
“The Festival is all about helping our valued owners realise their individual boating dreams through a range of educational events as well as providing a unique environment where they can meet other like-minded Riviera and Belize owners, after all, the family who boats together stays together.”
Last year’s registrations were up by more than 50 per cent, which has prompted Riviera to expand the events program with a series of new seminars amongst more than 76 individual educational and social events held over the four days.
The Festival of Boating offers on-site parking and easy access with many owners able to arrive by boat and pre-book a berth for the Festival.
