Sabre Motor Yachts Arrive in Australia
The history of Sabre Yachts goes back 35 years to 1970 – a short time in the history of boat building in Maine USA. The traditions of Maine’s boat building have survived through the centuries and Sabre Yachts is today one of Maine’s leading boat builders with worldwide reputation for style and quality.
These elegant and traditional ‘down east’ designed boats will now proudly be imported and distributed in Australia and New Zealand by E Marine Australia. Jed Elderkin, Principal of E Marine Australia, says that the first Sabre will arrive in Australia ready for the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show 2009.
The Sabre range includes one aft cabin motor yacht, the Sabre 47. The 42 Flybridge Sedan is available with or without flybridges and an optional extended hard top which covers the cockpit area is also available. The award winning Sabre 34, Sabre 36 and Sabre 42 Hard Top Express, offer luxurious accommodation and comfort mixed with outstanding performance. The latest addition and the Sabre flagship is the new Sabre 52 Salon Express, the largest and most luxurious Sabre Motor Yacht offered to date.
This diversity of product styles makes the Sabre range one of the most flexible and versatile ranges in the boating industry today.
Typical cruising speeds, with average weight conditions and sea state, are in the 20 knot range and top speeds, with average load conditions are between 25 and 30 knots depending on the model. At low engine speeds, the Sabre range is very fuel-efficient and at speeds of 8 – 10 knots, which is where trawler yachts operate, they are a real pleasure to drive. But when conditions change and the time calls for higher speeds, the performance of the Sabre deep-vee hulls truly comes into its own.
These sophisticated and truly elegant boats are in a niche of their own. And with Sabres own particular blend of finely fitted interiors, they will be a truly envied craft to the Australasian boating fraternity
