Founded in 1993, Sailfish Catamarans have enjoyed two decades of success in the production of their award winning range of aluminium catamarans. To commemorate this 20 year milestone, Sailfish have released the new Sailfish S7 Limited Edition – a boat that is sure to set the benchmark once again in the 7m offshore fishing market.

“I truly believe that the key to our success over the years has been our willingness to listen to what customers want and deliver it in a quality product.” says Sailfish’s founder and managing director Darren Foster. A simple mantra on paper but a challenging philosophy to embrace every day.

It has been this willingness to listen that has seen the development of the Sailfish S7 Limited Edition, a 6.95m Enclosed Hardtop with a standard inclusions list that would leave your local Lexus dealer feeling inadequate.

“We want people to enjoy the feeling of getting the ultimate trailerable fishing boat knowing that all the boxes have been ticked with regards to options and accessories and there is nothing more to spend.” says Gavan Daly, Webbe Marines Director. “20 Years is a great triumph for the team at Sailfish and we have spent months working on a product that is sure to impress! “

Bold claims until you unravel the list of standard inclusions and try and work out where it all goes on this maxi trailer boat.

It starts with the Sailfish’s Hydroflow Gen 2 hull as a platform, a proven hull that has received many accolades from industry commentators and satisfied clients. Atop this is fitted an enclosed glass hardtop with lockable rear door to form a brilliant wheelhouse arrangement that gives the driver a feeling of confidence and comfort in the most demanding conditions.

The most radical departure for Sailfish has been the setup of the forward berth area that has seen two full length bunks running bow-stern with an electric toilet and miles of storage. ‘Traditionally we set up the forward berth running port-starboard which is great for couples but is not as practical for fishing mates. This configuration allows for extended overnight trips with individual sleeping arrangements that are 2m long which is a real winner.” remarks Darren Foster.

The forward berth also features a full flush toilet that does not need the bunks to be re-arranged to be accessed. The entry to this forward berth is made easier with a dash cut out and privacy curtain completes the setup.

The mid cabin and helm area is bright and visibility is outstanding with glass windows maximising the full height between the cabin and the all-aluminium hardtop with standard windscreen wiper. Side opening windows allow for excellent ventilation.

Designed for the enthusiast who spends long hours at the helm as seen a lot of thought go into the dash ergonomics and driver comfort. “Our customers regularly rack up 200 hours a year so driver comfort is a huge focus for us.” comments Darren.

The expansive cockpit features innovative arrangements for a sink and stove, under gunwale lighting, gaff rack, LED work lights and a hybrid non-skid treatment to the floor –  a great finishing touch.

Fisherman are spoilt with underwater lighting, a welded cutting board with LED work light and salt tap, live well with viewing panel and internal LED to fully maximise night fishing and a high pressure deck wash.

The functional walkout between the two Honda 135hp Four Stroke powerhouses is functional for fisherman allowing the ability to work a big fish all the way around the engines and ease of getting a fish on board. Divers and families will also love this unique boat access. The Hondas are fed from 2 x 175lt fuel tanks giving a range of approx. 490klms.

The Sailfish S7 Limited Edition will make its debut at the Sydney International Boat Show at Darling Harbour from the 1st to the 5th of August.
