Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show will introduce a dedicated sea trial area at the 2010 Show in May in an Australian first.
Exhibitors at the leading international Show can book a berth on the sea trial dock within the marina display area. The opportunity is restricted to one berth per exhibitor with a limited number of berths up to 45ft and some berths possible for longer vessels, depending on configuration.
“We have introduced this new component to the 2010 Show based on exhibitor feedback,” said Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show General Manager Barry Jenkins.
“The facility may be useful for a wide range of marine exhibitors from smaller trailerable craft through to luxury vessels. Many exhibitors commented they wanted the opportunity to showcase their designs and products to prospective customers in a short sea trial,” he said.
The sea trial dock will offer clear and direct access to the Coomera River. Tests can be done during Show hours.
The 22nd Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is held at Sanctuary Cove from Thursday, May 20 to Sunday, May 23 at one of Australia’s leading tourism and boating destinations, the Gold Coast.
Other initiatives for the 2010 event include a Prestige Brokerage and Charter Display. Only accredited marina brokers and dealers will be permitted to exhibit within this dedicated display area on the marina. The new category means there will be more high quality 15m-plus vessels, some valued at more than $A1 million.
“We believe these new components will further enhance the Show’s reputation as a leading marine event in the Australasian region,” said Mr Jenkins.
“The Show’s management is delighted with exhibitor response thus far with 80 per cent of our pavilion areas booked some four months out from the event.” This year’s Show has three large pavilions including the Yachtbuilders’ Pavilion sited on a prime location with glass walls overlooking the marina. As in past years, there is an extensive on-water display at the marina and hardstand exhibits at the adjacent waterfront Marine Village.
In other news, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show welcomed back Club Marine as a sponsor.
“We are delighted Club Marine has renewed its association with the Show,” said Mr Jenkins.
The 22nd Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show will be staged 9am to 5pm daily from May 20 to 23.
Past events have drawn buyers from around the world, eager to view more than 100 world and regional marine product launches and more than 450 exhibitors. The Show has attracted more than 50,000 people in recent years. Exhibitors encompass a wide range of marine products and services with super yachts, luxury cruisers, catamarans, sail boats, engines, electronics, marine safety equipment and marine business to business services.
