Australia’s premier marine PR/media specialist Sandman Public Relations continues to lead the charge to take Australian marine businesses to the world.

In recent months the company has signed three more ‘globally-focused’ clients, including bluewater cruising marque Buizen Yachts, oceanographic data specialist Tidetech and online marina business UltimateBerths.com.

Sandman PR director Ben Sandman said the company would have an office in another key global market within 18 months.

“Working with Australian-based marine companies that have a global objective is allowing us to fast-track the next phase of our business strategy,” Sandman said.

“We’ve been actively leveraging opportunities in other regions which is delivering significant benefits for our clients and is good news for other businesses we’re currently speaking with.”

Of particular note, Sandman PR assisted Tidetech in its successful bid to supply oceanographic data and tidal modelling to the 34th America’s Cup.

Sandman PR co-director Jamie Millar said Brisbane-based Tidetech would supply a licence to use its San Francisco model from June 2011 to September 2013.

“It’s a massive boost to our marine industry to have an Australian company participating in one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events,” Millar said.

“Tidetech’s scientific team has unrivalled expertise in tidal and storm-surge modelling from decades of scientific research and application, so we’re very excited to be helping promote this business to the rest of the world.

“There’s so much un-heralded innovation in the Australian marine industry… many Australian businesses are offering products and services that are really cutting edge and it’s vital to get this message out to the global market.”

Sandman PR delivers public relations campaigns, media management, creative design and digital services to the marine industry.

Current clients include: Honda, Navico, Emarine Australia, Buizen Yachts, Tidetech, Graaf Marine, Bar Crusher and UltimateBerths.com among others.
