Held at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club in Sydney’s Pittwater for two days over 16 and 17th March, the Pittwater Sail Expo is the place to see the latest Jeanneau sailing yachts.
The new Sun Odyssey Deck Saloon model, the 44DS, will be available to view, as will the award winning Sun Odyssey 379 and the flagship of the range, the Sun Odyssey 509.
Sharing the same hull as the recent popular release, the Sun Odyssey 439, the 44DS retains the trademark enormous aft owner’s cabin of the deck saloon range. With an interior that has no fewer than sixteen opening ports to give superb ventilation throughout, the aft cabin of the 44DS also features a large opening port out to the transom offering a wide view whilst at anchor.
The Sun Odyssey 379 is a Marc Lombard designed cruiser that follows the success of the 409 and 439 by being easy to handle, having excellent performance, and being a delight to relax on whilst at anchor.
Available in a two or three cabin version, the 379 also has extra flexibility by having a lifting keel option to make exploring those shallower inlets and secluded bays that much easier. Other keel options include a deep or a shoal draft.
The Sun Odyssey 509 is stiff, sea-kindly and very easily sailed short-handed. There are many innovative features for making time on board a pleasure including a full function cockpit table, and hinged double doors in the companionway for easy access from the cockpit to the interior.
The standard interior features an innovative T-shaped galley allowing easy use for entertaining with the option of an additional fridge/wine cooler. Abundant storage throughout is a plus as is the large foredeck locker for those bulky items required for bluewater cruising.
