Australia’s US Yachts has proven to be a jewel in the crown of Marlow Hunter (formerly Hunter Marine), one of the biggest yacht building companies in the USA. US Yachts, helmed by Olympic yachtsman Matt Hayes, was named as number one in the world for customer service and number two dealer worldwide for volume sales.
The awards were presented in Annapolis on October 6, 2012.
Eddie Breeden, Director Customer Sales at Hunter Marine, said that the team at US Yachts should be proud of the accomplishment.
“Everyone at Marlow Hunter – from top to bottom – thanks you and congratulates you on your effort in these extraordinary times,” Mr Breeden stated.
Matt Hayes, CEO of US Yachts, said he was thrilled with this result, especially considering that US Yachts’ Australian dealership finished ahead of juggernaut dealers in France, UK and the USA.
“I would like to thank my hard-working team for their efforts and would also like to thank
Hunter for producing such a wonderful range of yachts,” Mr Hayes said.
Mr Hayes also commented on the future of Hunter yachts, now under the tutelage of new owner, Mr David Marlow.
“David Marlow is a serious player in the yachting world, and will ensure that Hunter yachts continue to be a leader in yacht building. Hunter is turning 40 this year, and under Marlow’s wing, will be at the forefront of technology, innovation and workmanship.”
David Marlow has vast experience manufacturing yachts from 37’- 100’, and also recently acquired the historic Merrill Stevens Shipyard – America’s oldest shipyard, at 127 years old.
A complete renovation of the iconic shipyard is well underway.
Hunter Marlow yachts are manufactured in Florida, to the highest international standards.
David Marlow stated “Marlow’s ownership of Hunter Marine, now Marlow Hunter, took
place on the 40th anniversary of Hunter’s beginning; a history of continued growth through innovation. I intend to start from this foundation and grow the company with our mission being to, “Build Simply the Best.”
