SP High Modulus

Exhibitor SP High Modulus, the marine business of Gurit, is showcasing its range of marine composite products suitable for the superyacht market, high-performance custom, production and workboat sectors.

The products on show include the high-performance prepreg SE 84 Nano launched in Australia at the Show. Other products are the B³ SmartPac solution, Corecell™ M-Foam, the structural marine foam core and Spabond 540, a high performance marine adhesive.

When vacuum bag moulded, SE 84 Nano exhibits a 20 per cent increase in compressive strength compared with SP-High Modulus’ SE 84LV. This is achieved through a combination of SP-High Modulus proprietary formulation technology and 3M™ Matrix Resin.

The B³SmartPac solution is a versatile construction solution that helps builders manufacture composite components more efficiently. The Corecell™ M-Foam is a structural marine foam which offers high shear strength, low weight and high elongation plus low resin uptake for infusion processes.

It also offers high temperature stability for prepreg processes. M-Foam has been type approved by Bureau Veritas and Registro Italinano Navale (RINA).

These complement previous accreditations by ABS Quality Evaluations (ABS QE), Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and Germanischer Lloyd (GL). SP-High Modulus is a technical leader in the formulation of advanced epoxy resins.
