Peel Island, Queensland: Riviera owners Michael and Carol Gaske enjoyed glorious sunny days, good company and fine wine at the R Marine Jones Winter Weekend experience held in July.
Departing from the Gold Coast’s Broadwater, Michael and Carol on board their Riviera 37 Open Flybridge, Bella, joined 23 other Riviera’s ranging in size from 36 to 55 feet for the journey north to Peel Island.
“The weather was just perfect and Randall and the team surprise us each time with a new event or location,” Michael said.
Randall said 60 adults and children joined them for the Winter Weekend experience.
“We put on a wine tasting experience on the beach at Peel Island where the group had the opportunity to catch up with their fellow Riv owners,” Randall said.
“We spent the night at Peel Island and then made a slow and comfortable cruise across Moreton Bay to Blakesly anchorage on Saturday afternoon.
“We met on the beach again at Blakesly anchorage for another social gathering, which was enjoyed by many Riv owners who brought along a platter of nibblies and few drinks while the kids played until sundown.
“We aim to provide our owners with the opportunity to experience blue water cruising with the support of our experienced team leading the way and providing any support that may be required either enroute or at anchor. We hope to make all our experience events relaxing, social and memorable for our owners, many of whom come away from the journey with new boating friends, knowledge and boating confidence.”
Michael and Carol have met six other couples over the years who they have remained in contact with.
“We all keep our boats at Calypso Bay (Jacobs Well, northern end of the Gold Coast) and it’s good to see them at the owner experiences. R Marine Jones put on a very good wine tasting event with some nice wines and nibblies, which was a good chance to mingle with the other owners,” Michael said.
“The team at R Marine Jones do a fantastic job and really look after us. They make us feel safe and comfortable and we look forward to the next experience.”
