Stylish new VHF range from Raymarine
Raymarine has released a new look range of stylish VHF radios that are also packed full of practical, easy-to-use features.
The new VHF range includes the affordable entry level Ray 49, the practical combination VHF and loud hailer Ray 218 and the highly sophisticated Ray 55.
All three are rugged and reliable, feature easy-to-use rotary controls for volume, squelch and menu operation and have large backlight LCD displays.
They also have Class D digital select calling with a built-in DSC distress key (for one touch digital broadcast of the boat’s GPS position and digital mayday) a hefty 25 watts of transmitter power and a superior receiver with excellent noise rejection, best-in-class audio output and a standard external speaker connection. The Ray 49 and Ray 55 are also fully submersible (IPX7).
All three come complete with sun cover, yoke mounting bracket, power/speaker/data cable, mounting hardware and instructions. An optional in-dash flush mounting kit is available separately.
Both the compact Ray 49 and the Ray 218 have integrated channel selection controls on the handset (the Ray 218 also has a built-in speaker) and four scan modes as well as programmable scanning.
The Ray 218 is a perfect match for Raymarine’s E-Series and C-Series display. It boasts best-in-class performance and an extra large LCD display with 2UP dual channel mode to display both the active and standby channels simultaneously. The Ray 218 also features integrated soft keys that make it easy to access frequently used channels and menu functions.
The Ray 218 also features a built-in 30-watt loudhailer with listen-back capability and automatic fog signals.
The Ray 55E offers an extra large LCD display with dual channel mode to display both the active and standby channels at the same time. The standard microphone also includes integrated controls for channel selection as well as a built-in speaker. Watch modes as well as programmable scanning are also included.
Both the Ray 218 and the Ray 55 can also be paired with the Raymic Full Function Handset. This features a large backlit LCD status display and controls including a quick access 16 key, volume, squelch and favourite channel soft keys.
