Sun Odyssey 41 Deck Saloon to be featured at Sydney International Boat Show 2013

To be featured at Sydney International Boat Show 2013, the Sun Odyssey 41 Deck Saloon is the second model in the new deck saloon range from Jeanneau. The new models have been designed with the best features of previous deck saloon models, incorporated in a eye catching style.

The 41DS features the same Philippe Briand hull design as the award winning Sun Odyssey 409, and the deck layout has been carefully considered to accommodate a shorthanded crew.

The hard chine of the hull makes for a very seaworthy yacht, and, combined with the twin helms and centralised sailing controls, couples and families will have no problem with a wide variety of sailing conditions.

With considerable input from Australia customers, the 41DS also features a variety of sail plans to suit various sailing needs including options for a self-tacking jib, a code zero, and a performance sail suite.

On deck the flush opening hatches that curve in unison with the deck design increase forward visibility, light and ventilation and the opening port in the transom is of particular benefit to the owner’s cabin.

The two cabin layout boasts the large aft owner’s cabin that has always been one of best selling points of the DS range, as well as a large guest cabin forward.  The raised saloon flooring allows for superb visibility, and the living space contains plenty of storage compartments and a head with separate shower.

Also available on the deck saloon models is the 360 docking system. A revolutionary propulsion system developed by Jeanneau and ZF Marine, this unique system allows easy and safe manoeuvring of a sailboat in tight quarters via a joystick mounted in the cockpit.

All in all the 41DS is a fitting replacement for the 42DS which was one of the most popular models in Australia.
