Sunsail returns!
Sunsail Yacht Charters has returned to New Zealand after an absence of three years. The company is offering a range of vessels for charter in both Auckland and the Bay Of Islands.
Shane Walker, who also previously operated Sunsail in New Zealand from 1995 to 2004, says the return of the popular Sunsail brand will create more opportunities for New Zealanders to charter yachts in the Hauraki Gulf and the Bay of Islands.
“Sunsail is a highly competitive, price-driven product, based around a ‘tick the boxes’ range of options,” he says. “This has proved very popular with the more self-reliant Kiwi sailors.
“We will also be introducing a new range of yachts, the slightly more performance oriented Jeanneau ‘I’ range, for those who appreciate a good sailing boat.”
Mr Walker says that, as well as offering a broader range of yachts for charterers here; the re-introduction of Sunsail to the New Zealand market will also create new investment opportunities for those wanting to own a charter boat.
Sunsail originated in 1974, specialising in flotilla yacht charters in popular Mediterranean sailing destinations. Today, the company has a strong global presence; offering bareboat, skippered, flotilla and learn-to-sail yacht charters from 35 bases throughout the world. Sunsail is also one of the largest operators of sailing schools with a number of schools located around the globe.
Mr Walker says Sunsail charter yachts will also be available in Vava’u, Tonga from early next year.
Sunsail charters can be booked through their Auckland base office at the Z Pier building at Westhaven’s Charter Pier.
