The all-weather Aegean – Maritimo’s A60 Enclosed Flybridge

In the wake of the success of the Sports Cabriolet range and then the Aegean series, Bill Barry-Cotter and the design team have gone one step further and introduced the Maritimo A60 Enclosed Flybridge to the world market.

However, the A60 Enclosed is not simply an A60 Aegean with a roof, it is a quite different altogether: “It has a completely new layout,” said Bill Barry-Cotter. “Yes, it has a fully enclosed flybridge, but the new layout gives the boat a real point of difference.”

“This boat will fit perfectly in the markets of Europe, the USA and Australia,” Barry-Cotter added.

The new A60 Enclosed will be powered by Caterpillar C12 715hp diesels as standard. However for the first time in a Maritimo, an option of Volvo D800s will be offered.

“This is the first time we have had a Volvo option,” said Barry Cotter. “And we are very pleased to be able to offer these engines as some customers have had them in the past and would like to stick with the Volvo brand.”

The A60 Enclosed has a three-cabin, two-bathroom layout. The full-width owner’s stateroom is a highlight with a queen-sized bed and full private ensuite. Forward is a VIP cabin with private entry to the second bathroom and to port is a bunk cabin with an ample single berth (upper and lower bunks are an option). All cabins offer plenty of hanging space and ample storage for extended cruising.

The main deck is very spacious with dining and lounge areas in the saloon and huge picture windows from which you can enjoy the view from all directions. Of course there is a comprehensive entertainment system throughout the boat including a Bose surround sound system and a retractable flat-screen TV/DVD.

The gourmet galley has all the conveniences of home including a huge fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher. There is also plenty of storage for food and utensils and even a cocktail cabinet.

Aft of the galley, the three-way sliding doors lead to the expansive cockpit which also features Maritimo’s popular ‘garage’ where you can store a tender up to 3.5 metres with its engine attached.

Access to the flybridge is via an aft-facing internal staircase – as opposed to the forward-facing staircase on the A60 Open.

The flybridge has a central steering position with plenty of room for navigation equipment and engine monitoring systems. Big wipers with fresh-water washers sweep the expansive windscreens and the views from the helmstation are fantastic.

Also on the bridge there is a comfortable L-shaped lounge to port and a second lounge to starboard.

Wide sliding doors aft lead to the verandah where you can enjoy the views and the fresh air. Making this Maritimo a true boat for all seasons!
