The best teams in the world will sail B/one

BAVARIA B/one will be the official host of the invitational Boat Team Racing Challenge in Sardinia and the 2. Deutsche Segel-Bundesliga.

The list of participating clubs in the first Invitational Team Racing Challenge in Porto Cervo in Sardinia reads like a who's-who of the most prestigious sailing clubs in the world. New York Yacht Club, Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Royal Thames Yacht Club, these are three of the 16 invited internationally renowned clubs racing between 2nd to 6th July. Each club will have 2 teams of their best sailors invited to this exceptionally high-caliber event.

The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda is one of the most famous regatta areas in the world where elegant maxi yachts, fast TP52 Racers or fantastically restored classic yachts again choose their world champions and winners of other well known trophies. BAVARIA’s B/one is back at the center in July where it has been declared the official host of the invitational Boat Racing Team Challenge – and this is with a clear justification. The people in charge of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda want a sporty and agile keelboat, which conforms to the demands of the international sailors.

"Team Sailing is a very demanding discipline and a very dynamic growing area of yachting. We want to host a club regatta with a high sporting value for the participating sailors and exciting race for the spectators who can watch the sport as you would in an arena" said Riccardo Bonadeo, Commodore of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.

The BAVARIA B/one will also be the official class of the second Sailing League. Over 70 sailing clubs struggling this year to gain Bundesliga points to gain a position in the 1st or 2nd Bundesliga. After the successful launch of the sailing league last year with 18 sailing clubs , this new regatta format delighted participants for the current season with 58 clubs from the Federal territory taking part. They all want to prove that they have the best sailors in their ranks.

In order to cope with the large amount of teams – the format has been changed to make it even more exciting – this year for the first time there will be a 1st and 2nd division Bundesliga. At the end of close racing there will be 18 clubs in each of the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga’s. The first regatta in early April in Glücksburg on the Flensburg Fjord, the 58 new clubs will challenge the original 5 clubs from the 2013 season to gain there places in each of the new leagues.

The first Bundesliga last year used the J-70 as its class boat, this year in the second Bundesliga, the sponsors Audi have selected the B/One. The first 2 rounds of the Bundesliga takes place in Tutzing on Lake Starnberg between 23rd to 25th May. Following this the next opportunity arises to challenge for promotion from league 2 into league 1 whilst racing on Lake Constance between 26th to 28th May.

"We are very proud to contribute the B/one to the Invitational Team Racing Challenge and the Sailing League. The B/one is ideal for this type of racing and crews can enjoy the sailing whilst fully concentrating on the racing tactics. A B/one is an agile race boat from the pen of Farr Yacht Design, who has drawn a lot of successful racing yachts. These sporty genes are clearly displayed in the B/one" explains Daniel Kohl, Product Manager & Head of Marketing at BAVARIA .

Especially for the new season, BAVARIA has upgraded the B/One with a new configuration for the deck fittings, more trim options and a new concept for the sails.

Less gennaker and jib sheet tension is required by the 70 -millimeter blocks that make the trim and maneuvers on the B/one now even lighter and thus faster. The standard genoa fine tuning is unique in this class of boat. All deck fittings are Harken, the complete set of sheets, halyards and extensors are by Liros. Intensive work at BAVARIA has been done on the rig the 7 meter long B/one. A new Dyform forestay now allows 30 percent more tension on the luff of the sail without stretching.

By the way, the B/one is not only a sporty regatta boat, but also the perfect day sailor and weekender. A double berth in the bow and the benches under the cockpit create comfortable places to sleep.

The basic price for so much fun to sail with a B/one is AUS $56,000
