It will be a fun time for young and old at the Club Marine Shipyard Party with a host of live entertainment, great food and an impressive fireworks display at 7pm to celebrate the 2013 Gold Coast International Marine Expo.
The family event kicks off from 3.30pm on Saturday, November 2 with a raft of entertainment including, live DJ, acoustic soloist, live music from _The Accidents_, and a performance by funny man Col Elliott among the line-up.
Gold Coast International Marine Expo spokeswoman Emma Milne said the Club Marine Shipyard Party was one of Expo's major highlights.
"This fun-filled family event will be held right in the heart of the Expo site overlooking the Coomera River and we have started the entertainment program earlier this year to encourage families to come along and join in the fun," she said.
"The Club Marine Shipyard Party is a great opportunity for boating enthusiasts to come together to share their experiences and passion whilst celebrating the great marine industry at Australia's Working Boat Show.
"We have a host of fun entertainment planned this year, including the illuminated Under the Sea stilt walkers who will entertain children and the young at heart from 5.30pm.
"This year we are encouraging boat owners to come by boat and anchor in the designated areas of the Coomera River and enjoy the entire weekend spectacle. Anchoring details can be found on the Expo website.
"The Club Marine Shipyard Party is one of the most popular attractions on Expo's growing events program and it would not be possible without the support of its sponsors, Club Marine Insurance, Ultimate Events, Illuminated Industries, Sirromet Wines, Pacific Motor Yachts and Alaska Motor Yachts.
There will also be a Connect 4 tournament and a silent auction where party goers can bid on a selection of "big boys toys" items, including two remote controlled race boats valued at $5000 each.
The Club Marine Shipyard Party is open to the public with free entry and will be held at the waterfront Main Stage at Expo from 3.30pm on Saturday November 2.
The Gold Coast International Marine Expo is a not-for-profit, action packed, family friendly event that offers a unique behind the scenes view of the diverse and fascinating marine industry.
A gold coin donation is required upon entry to the Gold Coast International Marine Expo which will be donated directly back to community groups including the Rotary Club of Coomera River, Paradise Kids, the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter Rescue Service and Sailability Gold Coast, all of whom give so generously their time to support the operations at Expo.
The Gold Coast International Marine Expo will be held on November 1-3 from 9am to 5pm with free entry and free parking.
