On the catwalk from the 6th-14th October the multi-award winning Pershing 82’ and the three-engine Pershing 108’ New Edition, alongside the models which have made the name of the brand

October 2012 –  Pershing, brand of the Ferretti Group, among the leading international manufacturers of high performance open motor yachts, ranging from 15 to 35 metres, presents its most characteristic models at the Genoa Boat Show.

The stars of the 52nd show will be the Pershing 82’, which has achieved extraordinary success at the Festival de la Plaisance, Cannes by winning three of the World Yacht Trophy awards for design, layout and innovation on board, and the Pershing 108’ New Edition, the highly-esteemed three-engine yacht of the Marche brand.

Designed, like the rest of the fleet, by the yacht designer Fulvio De Simoni in collaboration with AYT (Advanced Yacht Technology – the naval research and design centre of the Ferretti Group) and the team of architects and designers of the Centro Stile Ferretti Group, the latest boats from the Mondolfo site are ready to animate the catwalk of the most important Italian nautical showcase.

23.99 metres long and 5.50 metres wide, the Pershing 82’, is a boat designed to enhance the pleasure of yachting and to ensure unequalled performance at sea: thanks to two powerful MTU 16 V 2000 M93 of 2435 mhp (1792 kW) with Searex SR140S of ZF propulsion system, together with Rolla surface piercing propellers, it is capable of reaching a top speed of more than 45 knots, with a range of 300 nautical miles. The propulsion system is run by AUTOTRIM, an exclusive functionality that automatically optimizes the performance and the consumption of the boat at any speed and with any load.

Regarding the external lines, the eye-catching distinctive features of the new Pershing 82’ are the elongated superstructure and the new sun-deck with its optional retractable helm station, a typical feature of the new Pershing, which renders the yacht slimmer and provides an additional sunbathing area at the guests’ disposal. The sun-deck can be reached from an innovative carbon steel staircase, which can be lowered electro-hydraulically into the cockpit and which disappears upwards automatically.

Below deck, where comfort and design reign, the internal layout of the first hull of Pershing 82’ has 4 guest cabins: the master suite amidships, a VIP cabin forward and 2 cabins with twin beds at the bow of the master suite. Additionally, there are 2 crew cabins (one for the captain and one for the sailors) equipped with a laundry room and a bathroom. The long-standing partnership with Poltrona Frau, which designed the sofas of the saloon, the pilot house and many other leather details, has once again been renewed. However, many other prestigious brands were used for the finishings, such as the washbasin by Antonio Lupi and the lamps by Cassina.

The other new model presented by the brand at the Italian preview in Genoa is the Pershing 108’ New Edition, a three-engine yacht of 32.90 metres that maximizes the concepts of personalization and versatility thanks to its layout which allows Owners and their guests to be the protagonists of the experience on board.

In fact this mega-yacht has various new details that distinguish its from all the competitors in the same category. The chosen internal layout has 4 guest cabins (a full beam master suite amidships, a large VIP cabin forward and two guest cabins, one with twin beds and one with beds that can be used as single beds or a king size bed) and 3 crew cabins. The windows of the lower hull are also an original idea, since they have been enlarged at the bottom end so as to capture more natural light. The fabrics used are also innovative. Pershing 108’ New Edition is the first yacht on which a special version of Alcantara was used for the exterior: in fact all the sun beds and the sofas of the cockpit and the sun-deck are covered with this exclusive material which is particularly resistant to water. The interiors are also prestigious, bearing the best designer names of Made in Italy: Poltrona Frau, Armani Casa, Ernestomeda, Antonio Lupi, Penta Light and Zanotta.

Versatility and elegance are the strengths of this model without underestimating its high level of performance: Pershing 108’ New Edition has three MTU 16 V 2000 M94 L diesel engines of 2638 mhp (1939 kw) and, thanks to the three surface propellers, it reaches a top speed of more than 42 knots.

Besides these two new evolutions, another two models which have made the name of the brand will be present at Genoa: the first is the elegant Pershing 92’, a vessel with a sleek and streamlined profile that offers the maximum level of comfort of on-board living thanks to the liveability of its unique spaces. The other is the high performance Pershing 50.1, the smallest model of the range, a revisiting of the Pershing 50’, and an expression of the Next Generation, which unites a design of great character with high performance.

Nada Serafini, Brand Manager of Pershing, comments: “The international recognition obtained by Pershing and its ongoing search for solutions to satisfy the demands of the Owners represent proof of the brand’s prestige. Our presence at the Genoa Boat Show with two new models such as the Pershing 82’ and the Pershing 108’ New Edition is of fundamental importance to the brand, which continues to innovate without compromising on the style and performance which distinguish the Pershing yachts at international level”.
