Multihull enthusiasts are in for a great treat at the 2013 Gold Coast International Marine Expo from 1-3 November with three exclusive boat launchings by Multihull Solutions.

Multihull Solutions will be showcasing five catamarans at the show featuring the exclusive Asia Pacific launch of three new models including the Catana 59, Lipari 41 Evolution and Summerland 40.

The remarkable new Catana 59 has already earned international acclaim since its recent European launch for its cutting-edge design and magnificent performance.

Incorporating spectacular new innovations resulting from extensive Catana shipyard research and planning, the catamaran has a sleek and minimalist design that features the cockpit and saloon on the same level as well as a multi-purpose extendable lounge.

Offering truly unique living zones, the Catana 59 has an incredible sense of space. The galley and island unit, wide passageways and spacious cabins are capacious and bestowed with an abundance of natural light and ventilation. This unrivalled level of comfort goes hand-in-hand with high performance and 360° views, whether from the steering position, cockpit, saloon or chart table.

The exterior of the Catana 59 is particularly elegant, with its reverse bows and inward-curving daggerboards. The new hulls have achieved even higher scores than those of its popular predecessor, the Catana 58.

Benefiting from the very latest industry advances in recreational sailing construction, including the infusion process and use of carbon (now standard across all Catana models), the Catana 59 is a high-performance, lightweight and incredibly strong cruising catamaran.

Also having its Asia Pacific launch at the Gold Coast Marine Expo is the brand new version of the Lipari 41 Revolution by Fountaine Pajot.

The popular sailing catamaran has undergone an impressive upgrade with a host of design innovations. The catamaran has a new cockpit featuring an even larger opening to the saloon to maximise indoor and outdoor integration, as well as a sleek sofa that delivers an idyllic position for enjoying the sea views.

Inside, the galley has been rejuvenated with a synthetic resin benchtops and a 144-litre refrigerator with drawers that make it perfect for extended cruising. The galley opens directly on to the cockpit dining area for particularly convenient for entertaining. The aft cabins have been redesigned to include additional wide bays with opening portholes that optimise natural lighting and ventilation.

The catamaran has been constructed with a low centre of gravity and light displacement of 7.6T to ensure safety, stability with optimal comfort and performance in all conditions. Its two 20Hp standard engines provide a cruising speed of 7.7 knots, while the option of two larger 30Hp engines offers up to 9.5 knots if required.

Aesthetically, the Lipari 41 Evolution represents the pinnacle of European excellence with elegant lines and a revolutionary design that maximises space, storage and comfort. The catamaran’s ergonomically designed deck provides convenient centralised handling with obstacle-free movement. Built with advanced RTM éco technology, the Lipari 41 outshines its competitors in innovation with the mast built into the deck rather than the roof for reinforced structural rigidity and ease of handling.

Complementing these two launches will be the unveiling of the new model Summerland 40 by Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts.

Featuring the finest assets of Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts range including state of the art design, autonomous controls, outstanding fuel consumption rates and a sleek layout, the new model Summerland 40 also boasts a true Owner’s Suite with sea views and spacious bathroom.

Redesigned to feature a spacious and light-filled living area, the popular power catamaran also has an updated helm station to create more room and ease of movement. Inside, there is the convenience of an additional fridge/freezer, ambient LED lighting and a generous bathroom.

Two hulls are stable and do not suffer from hazardous and uncomfortable rolling experienced in most monohull designs, and Fountaine Pajot Motor Yachts have a main deck helm station for comfortable navigation and control for those longer passages and a fly bridge helm station for excellent vision when required.

Incomparable fuel consumption of 40 per cent less than other boats in its class is a result of their innovative hull design. Designed for optimal safety and comfort, the deck spaces are ergonomic and obstacle-free providing easy access to all areas.

With a sundeck, generous seats, a maindeck helmstation plus flybridge, the Summerland 40 is a welcome innovation in power catamaran design. An arc-style stairwell leads up to the flybridge from the cockpit, and this area may be cordoned off for maximum safety with the thick glass hatch.

The flybridge is a retreat in its own right: its queen-size sun lounge and sumptuously padded backrest on posts for lounging about make it a popular haven for idyllic cruising. The flybridge helmstation includes two luxurious helm seats and the skipper has exceptional visibility from all aspects.

Entertaining is a breeze with the saloon and cockpit seamlessly integrated, providing easy access all on one level and control over natural ventilation through the interior. The well-appointed galley with plenty of cupboard space overlooks the light-filled saloon and dining area, which comfortably seats up to eight guests.

The interior helmstation features a sleek console and comfortable seating and footrest for the comfort of an additional passenger, plus strategically-positioned porthole for optimal ventilation. The generous navigation table is large enough for multiple charts and paperwork to be unfurled without clutter.

The Summerland 40 also boasts an exclusive Owner’s Suite on the starboard hull furnished with a raised queen-sized island bed affording spectacular sea views, huge storage space, office desk, dressing table and a private bathroom. In the port hull, guests can relax in privacy and tranquility with two separate cabins featuring double or twin beds, shelves, bathroom and ample storage space for convenience on extended cruises.

Multihull Solutions will round out its impressive display by showcasing two Fountaine Pajot sailing catamarans including the flagship Sanya 57 and the immensely popular Hélia 44.
