New Zealand’s famous Hamilton Bridge to Bridge water ski classic has seen the best rise to the challenge – with Warlord winning its 11th crown and Mercury dominating the results.

After some tight racing down the mighty Waikato River, Warlord – a 21’ Bullet with twin Mercury S3000 Champ engines – took Open honours in 35 minutes and 36.0 seconds, some 43 seconds clear of Gotta Go in second.

It was Warlord’s 11th win but the first for new owner/driver Simon Morrison and his team of Grant Plummer (observer) and skiers Neil Rix and Kevin Vahtrik.

Bjammin then claimed third spot in the Open category and first in MOC, crossing in 38 minutes and 16.4 seconds thanks to its Mercury 300X Pro Max power plant.

Taking fourth place, and second in MOC, was Hoofit also powered by a Mercury 300X Pro Max.

Then it was the MerCruiser 525 EFI-powered Muscle Milk collecting fifth in the Open competition and also setting a new record in the Under 19 category.

Planning for next year’s event is already underway with more international teams expected, given the events will follow the World Championships scheduled for Queensland in September.
