Perth, Western Australia: Riviera’s exclusive Western Australia dealer, R Marine Perth, has just delivered the first of three brand new 53 Enclosed Flybridges.
R Marine Perth dealer principal Brendon Grieve and owner care manager Tim Wright went to Bunbury in late March to help unload two new 53s from the ship delivering these beauties from the east coast.
“Together with one of the new owners, we steamed the vessels a comfortable 80 nautical miles from Bunbury’s Inner Harbour, hugging the coast to Fremantle where they were commissioned at Northport for handover,” Brendon said.
“The new owners of the first 53 delivered here in Perth last week were absolutely ecstatic when they saw their boat. Kevin, a young 75 year old, has waited six weeks for his new Riviera to be delivered, making it his third Riviera.
“Most of our owners use their boats for cruising around Rottnest Island and sometimes they venture to the Abrolhos Islands, 400 kms north of Fremantle.”
Kevin and Heather Foley have previously owned a Riviera 43 and 48 and were really impressed when they saw the 53 at the 2011 Sydney International Boat Show.
Mr Foley said the 53 was a boat that you could easily live aboard.
“We will probably spend a bit of time on her even when we are at the yacht club,” he said.
“The hull window in the master suite is lovely. I like just lying there looking out over the top of the water’s edge, it’s the perfect way to unwind after a week of work. The barbecue facilities in the cockpit will certainly encourage us to entertain more.
“We took possession on Thursday and Heather and I took off for Rottnest on Friday.”
The couple have three sons and four grand-children who also enjoy boating.
“It does bring the family together and Heather absolutely loves the galley because it is so well set out. This would be the best galley I have ever seen on a boat.”
R Marine Perth showcased one of the new 53s at their floating display at the Club Marine Hillarys Boat Show, which was held over the weekend.
“It is no wonder why 21 of these new models have now been sold since the designs were released in 2010, there were queues to view it for the duration of the show, the most common response from the public – WOW! The three separate living levels took people by surprise” Brendon said.
“The big attraction is the rear deck, it’s enormous and people in WA like to entertain. The full beam master cabin with island king size bed and plenty of head room is another great feature.
“The rear galley is huge and there is plenty of room for entertaining in the saloon with lots of light from the large windows. Another key benefit is the ample storage space under the cockpit and forward of the engines for all the water toys.
“This stunning new model from Australia’s largest and most awarded luxury boat builder is known as the ‘spaceship’ for its enormous internal volume, space age technology and its superior engineering and design.”
R Marine Perth has had a very busy summer delivering a 43 Open Flybridge, 4400 Sport Yacht Series II, a 5800 Sport Yacht and two 53 Enclosed Flybridges to new members of the Riviera family.
