Facelift for long-term Maritimo Dealer

The world’s first Maritimo dealership has undergone a name change and a facelift.

The dealership, based at the original Maritimo factory at Hope Island in south-east Queensland, has been renamed Ormonde Britton’s Maritimo Gold Coast, has launched a new Web site and recruited additional staff to strengthen the sales and support team.

“The name change is designed to reflect our attitude as being the dealership with real personal service,” said Dealer Principal Ormonde Britton. “We may have sold more Maritimos than any other dealership in the world, but we only do so by standing right beside every boat we sell.”

The dealership has also launched a comprehensive new Web site, www.maritimogoldcoast.com.au.  The site includes details of the complete range of Maritimo models as well as the new Mustang range that the Dealership will represent. There is a detailed brokerage section on the site as well. And clients can read a little about each member of the dealership team.

V8 Supercar driver Russell Ingall has bought two Maritimos through Ormonde Britton’s dealership.

“Buying a boat is a bit like buying a house,” says Ingall. “It’s a major investment and very few agents are any good at helping you. Ormonde is one of the few good ones. He listens and advises. I trust his advice. That’s why he has a lot of repeat customers like me.”

Ingall was recently impressed with the dealership’s brokerage capabilities as well.

“I recently asked them to sell an overseas brand boat for me,” he says. “The market for second-hand boats is very tough and many people wait many months for a sale. I had a cheque from Ormonde in three weeks! Amazing!”

Ormonde Britton’s Maritimo Gold Coast has also recruited Justin Thorpe, known to everyone as Spence, to focus on new Mustang sales. Justin comes to the team from the Maritimo factory where he earned an enviable reputation in quality control.

Kim Britton has also joined the team in a marketing support role and will also be involved in helping clients with interior decor decisions on both new and pre-owned boats.

Ormonde says the dealership’s location at the Hope Island factory gives his team a special advantage.

“We have immediate access to the boat builders to ensure that every aspect of our clients’ new boats are going according to instructions,” he says.  “We work with those teams to oversee variations and special requirements – and to make sure they are carried out to the highest standards.”
